Engineering Manager

You are responsible for the engineering department and the maintenance (preventive & corrective) of the equipment and buildings for the LUC group. You will supervise the process engineers and local technicians in Brunssum (NL) and Maasmechelen (B). Next to that you will initiate and support technical improvements and development.

As Engineering Manager, you manage engineering projects and maintenance for the whole LUC group, with Dutch and Belgium plants as priority, preventing production downtime. Next to that you manage mandatory inspections of equipment and buildings with a strong focus on safety. You work on improving and providing equipment and tools for maintenance and manufacturing. You manage introduction and implementation of new production equipment and technologies.
As Engineering Manager, you provide maintenance instructions and procedures and record digital information. You set up the Maintenance department digitally.
The Engineering Manager will supervise the process engineers and local technicians in Brunssum (NL) and Maasmechelen (B).

-Master Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Burgerlijk Ingenieur.
-Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
-Broad overall knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering.
-Experience with lathes, CNC and PLC is a plus.
-CAD drawing using Solid Works, preferred, but not essential.
-Well-structured approach with good planning and organizing skills.
-Good communication skills, in word and writing both in Dutch and English

CNC Programmer

As a CNC programmer, you will work in a nice team within a technical production environment. You are responsible for jobs on the CNC machine: you set up the machine based on the drawing and order specifications. Then you instruct the operator who will handle the job and you supervise that everything is done correctly. You fix minor malfunctions on the CNC machine yourself.

As a CNC programmer you work on high-tech assignments and workpieces. Here there is great diversity and each job is specific to certain projects. Your responsibilities in this process include determining the machining strategy based on drawings and specifications. In addition, you also think along within the work to eventually improve and optimize the production process. Moreover, you are also responsible for the maintenance of the CNC machine and you can fix minor malfunctions on the lathe.

– Experience with operation and control of CNC machine.

Production Employee

As a production worker, you will work in a nice team within a technical production environment. Your work will involve a part of the production process: blasting and gluing the products, assembling molds, assisting in casting the polyurethane and operating production machines.

You will work in the production area, such as assembling molds, putting molds in the oven, (helping with) pouring liquid PU into the molds, removing the hardened PU from the molds and preparing the molds for the next production round. In addition, you may also get to work blasting the products in the blast cabinet or applying a bonding layer in the glue room. Another workplace is operating production machines (CNC machine).
You will be working in a technical production environment where you will sometimes have to deal with chemicals, hot and sometimes heavy products and different machines. This may include sometimes working with gloves, requiring a mask or lifting assistance.

Lab technician/Production employee

As Lab technician/Production employee you will work in a nice team within a technical production environment. Your work relates to a part of the production process, namely the production of Polyurethane, helping with the casting of Polyurethane and operating casting machines.

As the lab technician you will produce urethanes according mixing instructions and production planning. Mixing instructions describe the various raw materials and the quantities to be used to manufacture the urethane. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the right amount of urethane is ready to be poured in the mould. The preparation of urethane can be done either manually in a laboratory environment or mechanically via machine depending on the type of urethane. Operation of the casting machines will become an important part of your job responsibilities. As well as the mixing and operation of the machine, you will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the machinery and equipment.
Additionally, you also have other tasks in the production process, such as the assembly and disassembly of products in moulds, assembling and dismantling flanges. You will work in a technical production environment in which you will have to deal with chemicals, hot and sometimes heavy products as well as various machines. Therefore working with gloves, masks, other PPE or lifting assistance is mandatory.

-A chemistry education is a plus but certainly not a must.

Conventional turner

As a conventional turner, you will work in a nice team within a technical production environment. The first step in the production process is to strip the rolls on the lathe. In a later stage of the production process the finishing of the rolls follows according the specification and drawings on the designated lathes.

You mount the relevant roller in the lathe and remove the old covering. When the new polyurethane has been applied you will finish the roll in accordance with the specifications on the production note or drawing. Moreover, you are also responsible for the maintenance of the lathe and you can resolve minor malfunctions on the lathe.

ICT Support engineer

Warehouse manager

You will ensure a neat and organized mould warehouse where you are responsible for the daily correct issue and intake of the necessary moulds for production. You keep a close eye on the condition of the moulds and carry out the necessary repairs and/or adjustments in a timely manner.

As a warehouse manager you are responsible for the efficient upkeep of the mould warehouse. You ensure a neat and organized warehouse and the accurate processing of the stock in SAP. In addition, you are responsible for the daily correct issuance of required moulds for production. At the end of the production process you ensure a correct intake of the used moulds. You closely check the condition of the moulds and carry out the necessary repairs and/or adjustments in good time. As manager of the mould warehouse, you also identify needs with regard to materials and/or tools for the production process.

-MBO – technical education, preferably metallurgy.

Teamleader Production

As a team leader you assist in organizing, planning and controlling the daily activities in the production. You ensure a good working atmosphere so that the production team works together in a pleasant , efficient  and safe way.  Besides managing this team, you are also responsible for safe working conditions on the work floor and  making suggestions for improvement.

As team leader you are responsible for the daily management of the 15 member production team. You know how to manage and motivate the employees so that they perform at their maximum. You will also partly actively participate in the production process. You manage leave requests, conduct absenteeism and performance interviews and take care of the induction of new employees. In addition to managing this team, you are also responsible for safe working conditions on the floor and you ensure an optimal execution of the production planning. Other tasks are tracking, analysing and improving the KPI’s in areas such as quality, planning cost and safety. You come up with proposals for improvement and take care of their implementation. In addition to working closely with your production team, you also work a lot with colleagues from other departments or locations in order to achieve the best results.

Lab Technician – Blender/Mixer

As a Lab Technician Production of urethanes you will produce urethanes in an industrial lab environment by mechanical methods

The main responsibilities and duties of the Lab Technician are :

-Production of urethanes in an industrial lab environment by use of mixers and weighing scales.
-Manual lifting and pouring into designated molds assigned to products.
-Identify proper molds required per drawing specification and assemble/disassemble as required for production.
-Safely handling and labelling materials being used.
-Monitoring, controlling and frequent adjusting of oven temperatures daily.
-Organizing, storing and record keeping of materials in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of the product.
-Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including calibration of equipment.
-Maintaining equipment records and daily work logs.
-All other duties and task as assigned by management.

-High school diploma.
-Minimum 3 years previous work experience in industry.
-A background working with chemicals would be an advantage but is not essential.
-Methodical, accurate, well-structured, and good numeracy skills.
-Knowledge of basic hand tools and mathematical skills is a plus.
-Good communication and teamwork skills.
-Able to follow instructions and strictly follow procedures.
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs frequently throughout the day.
